Sometimes You Have To Get To Know Yourself

Have you waken up to wonder what your day is going to be like, then realise, it will be like many of your past days because you do the repetitive daily things all week. Have you asked yourself are you doing things because you want to or because you've just been doing them? Do you hang out with the same people that don't support your dreams, but you've known them your entire life? Sometimes you have to ask yourself questions to find out what you truly like. Sometimes you have to get to know yourself. Who you are. What you like. What you care most about. What your purpose is.

Everyone has a purpose and calling. It may not be easily detected, but it is something inside of you that just won't go away. It will nag and pick at you and you think of it often. It comes easy to you and you desire it. When you get to know yourself you can answer questions that can help you direct your life in the right path. Getting to know yourself means more than "I like this and I like that". It's knowing your triggers. It's knowing your purpose vs wants. It's knowing who you need around you in your life. It's knowing what makes you better. Here are 5 things you can do to get to know yourself:

1) Do things you like to do along and see if you still have fun. When you're with a group of people sometimes you do things because it is fun for them. Try doing some of those things alone and see if you still feel the same way. For example: if you like to paint, see if painting alone is still satisfying. How do you feel while painting? Relaxed, stressed, overwhelmed, or focused. Knowing what things you actually like to do can help you get to know yourself.

2) Identifying stressful triggers. There are many things that stress people out. Money, bills, friends, family, work, etc. When you know yourself you also know what triggers stress and you finds ways to work through those triggers. For example if money and paying bills stresses you out, find a way to handle those issues without bringing stress. For example, if paying bills stresses you out, hire someone to do it, or do it when you're in a positive mood, not a stressed out or overwhelmed mindset. The most important thing is knowing your triggers and finding ways to overcome those stresses.

3) Talk to a therapist. Sometimes it is hard to figure things out on your own. Why you feel sad, depressed, overwhelmed, anxious, fearful, happy, excited, etc. all the time can be something you may want to understand in depth. At times, you need others help to listen and evaluate your lifestyle and surroundings to help you understand those emotions. Not everyone can see things clearly and help is always a great options. This also includes listening to motivational speakers and finding the right person to push you to do better.

4) Get a psych reading. I know a lot of people don't really believe in this type of "advantaged technology" however, sometimes just focusing on your purpose and finding yourself means getting a vibe check. A vibe check is allowing someone else to evaluate what emotions and feelings you are pushing off to other people. A psychic can do that and not be opinionated about your issues. Just what they see blocking your path.

5) Take time out from everyone. Sometimes there are people in and out of your life all day giving you vibes, opinions, stresses, triggers, etc. You can't get a clear vision of youself without any private time to yourself. It's just like getting to know a new friend. You spend time with them to know their likes, dislikes, cares, concerns, excitements, etc. You have to do the same thing with yourself. Take a day or week to block people that cause you to not get to know the true you. And sometimes you can take an entire day and turn your phone off and just spend time with yourself.

The goal is to know the best you and how you can share that best you with everyone. If you are always overwhelmed, stressed, or uncertain then you need to know the real you. The you that you want others to appreciate. The you that you want people to believe in. The you that you know you can be. It may require a lifestyle change. It may require a move, a cut off, a new line of work, etc. The goal is to be happy and know the real you is happy. Not just the outside you. The inside you as well. Grow, live, and change the world. Keep growing and inspiring.
